I am currently a first year Ph.D. student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. As a member of The Little Design Group, I am advised by Prof. Junnan Yu. As a HCI researcher, my research interests center on Mixed Reality (MR), Multi-Modal Interaction, and Spatial Computing.
Before joining The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design (B.E.) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In 2023, I worked as a research assistant at The Future Laboratory, Tsinghua University, focusing on olfactory interaction. Previously, I spent a wonderful exchange semester at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, majoring in Interactive Media Technology and researching sound interactions.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research explores spatial computing as a next-generation computational paradigm that enables seamless, context-aware interfaces, bridging the physical and digital worlds. Taking an interdisciplinary approach rooted in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Design, I investigate how multi-modal interactions—including olfactory, auditory, and haptic modalities—can enhance MR experiences. Additionally, I examine design features (e.g., user experience) of spatial computing artifacts to inform the development of more immersive, intuitive, and engaging spatial computing systems.
My research follows 3 general themes:
Spatial Computing
- Context-aware Interface
- Hybrid Spaces
Multi-Modal Interaction
- Tangible Interaction
- Olfactory Interaction
Design Research
- UI Design
- User Experience
